Exam Dates
The NBEMS diploma final theory exams are scheduled for December 15, 16, and 17, and candidates have until October 25 to apply for the exam.
Eligibility Criteria for NBEMS Diploma Theory Exam
To be eligible for the NBEMS Diploma Theory Exam, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Cut-off Date: The cut-off date for completing NBEMS Diploma Training to be eligible for the NBEMS Diploma Final Examination in December 2023 is June 30, 2024.
- Registration: Candidates should have previously registered with the board as NBEMS Diploma trainees.
- MBBS Qualification: Their MBBS qualification should be recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
- Training Completion Certificates: Candidates who have completed their NBEMS Diploma training before applying for the NBEMS Diploma Final Examination will need to submit the Final Training Completion Certificate (FTCC). Those still in training should submit a Provisional Training Completion Certificate (PTCC) as per the format prescribed by the board.
NBEMS Diploma Theory Exam 2023: Important Dates
The NBEMS Diploma Theory Exam 2023 has the following schedule:
- Registration Begins: October 4 at 3 PM
- Last Date to Register: October 25 until 11.55 PM
- Admit Card Release: December 8
- Exam Dates: December 15, 16, 17
Candidates are required to pay an examination fee of Rs 6,000 to appear in both theory and practical exams.

The NBEMS Diploma Final Exam consists of two stages: theory and practical examinations.
Theory Exam:
- Candidates must pass the theory examination to be eligible for the practical examination.
- There are three theory papers, each with a maximum of 100 marks.
- Each paper includes 10 short notes, each worth 10 marks.
- The minimum passing score is 150 marks in total for all three papers.
- Grace marks of up to 2% (6 marks out of 300) may be awarded to candidates who score between 144 to 149 marks out of 300.
Practical Exam:
- The practical exam also carries 300 marks and includes an OSCE and/or Clinical Examination, as well as a Viva.
- Unlike the theory paper, there is no provision for grace marks in the practical examination.
