NMMS West Bengal 2023 Registration Begins: The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education (MoE) conducts the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Exam, or NMMS, annually for Class 8 students to provide scholarships to candidates belonging to economically weaker sections. The online application for NMMS West Bengal 2023 began on June 23, 2023, and eligible candidates can apply before the last date, which is July 25, 2023.
Who can Apply for NMMS 2023?
To be eligible for the NMMS scholarship exam, students must have secured 55% and above marks in the final examination of Class 7 and must be studying in recognized government schools, government-aided schools, local body and government-sponsored schools, including madrasahs without residential facilities. The annual income of parents should be below Rs 3,50,000, and an income certificate supporting the same must be uploaded. A five percent relaxation is given to SC, ST, and disabled candidates.
Students from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, and state government-run residential schools or any private school are not entitled to the scholarship.
NMMS 2023 Exam Details
The state-level NMMSE will be conducted in two sessions on December 17, 2023, in an online mode having multiple choice questions (MCQs) of 90 marks for each session. The exam comprises a mental ability test and a scholastic aptitude test of 90 minutes each.
