During the Azadi Ka Amrit Kaal (75th year of Independence), Modi expressed that India had moved beyond this slave mentality. He cited the splendor of the Vishwanath Dham in Kashi, the grandeur of Mahakaal Mahalok in Ujjain, the large number of devotees in Kedarnath, and the upcoming inauguration of Shri Ram’s temple in Ayodhya as examples of the nation’s progress.

Modi assured that Mathura and Vrindavan would not lag behind in the development race. He participated in the Sant Mirabai Janmotsav, celebrating the 525th birth anniversary of Mirabai, and unveiled a commemorative stamp and coin. The event was attended by UP Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Mathura MP Hema Malini.

Addressing the crowd, Modi highlighted the role of saints in guiding the country back to its faith during challenging times. He mentioned prominent figures from different regions, such as Alvar and Nayanar saints in the south, Ramanujacharya, Tulsidas, Surdas, Kabirdas, and Ravidas in the north, Guru Nanak in Punjab, and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu in Bengal, who, despite linguistic and cultural differences, united the nation through faith and knowledge.

Speaking about Mathura, Modi emphasized its significance as the meeting place for various movements and its historical connection to Lord Krishna. He praised the cultural richness of the region, emphasizing its contribution to literature, music, and culture. Modi recognized the importance of Mathura in Gujarat’s history, linking it to Krishna’s journey to Dwarka and Mirabai’s later life in Dwarka. He commended the recognition of Nari Shakti (women’s power) in Bharat and highlighted the influence of figures like Radha and Mirabai.
