About RRB Allahabad
The Railway Service Commission, Allahabad was originally housed in a large rented accommodation on Sardar Patel Marg, which was a well-known landmark of Civil Lines, Allahabad.
In January 1985 Railway Service Commissions were renamed as Railway Recruitment Boards(RRBs). In 1990 the RRB had to give up the campus on Sardar Patel Marg and move to its present accommodation in DRM Office Annexe. In 1998 all RRBs came under the control of the Railway Recruitment Control Board (RRCB) which was set up in the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) to coordinate and streamline the working of RRBs.
RRB/ALD carries out recruitment of Group C staff for Allahabad, Lucknow and Moradabad divisions of Northern Railway, and for Diesel locomotive Works, Varanasi. Recently the RRB was also assigned the added responsibility of recruitment of Group D staff which was earlier the prerogative of the zonal railways. With the restructuring of Railway zones, RRB Allahabad has now been assigned the responsibility of recruitment work for North Central Railway, including both for the NCR headquarters office at Allahabad as well as for the three divisions at Allahabad, Jhansi, and Agra and also for DLW Varanasi.

RRB Allahabad ALP Technician Selection Process
RRB calls for eligible applicants through “Employment News” (A publication of the Government of India). The employment notification is also published on the Internet website. The applications are scrutinized for eligibility. The eligible candidates are called for a written examination with call letters being sent a month in advance of the date of the examination.
In most of the categories of jobs, there is no interview after the written examination. In some categories, there will be a second stage written the examination. In categories related to operational safety, there will be a psychological test.
The application-details furnished by successful candidates are verified and they are called for counseling and scrutiny of original documents. A panel of names is then recommended to Southern Railway / Integral Coach Factory to the extent of vacancies. The candidates will be required to pass a medical examination before appointment.
